Wood Selection

Collaborative Design

The Lathe & Finish

We begin by choosing a block of locally fallen timber—cherry, walnut, or oak—that carries the right character, grain, and personal significance for your piece.

We discuss the dimensions, function, and silhouette, ensuring the final hand-turned form balances utility with the natural history of the wood.

I turn the piece by hand in my Madison studio, preserving organic edges and knots, then seal it with an heirloom-grade, non-toxic finish.

A Trusted Tribute

The memorial urn turned from our family's fallen maple tree is a breathtaking tribute. It brings a quiet, natural warmth into our home that feels deeply personal.
